Key Benefits and Features

A detailed NECA TMNT review reveals that this specialized box set is one of the most exciting deep-cut releases for franchise enthusiasts. Celebrating the beloved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures storyline published by Archie Comics, the Stump Wrestling Turtles 4-Pack NECA delivers an incredible blend of nostalgic styling, modern toy engineering, and vibrant shelf presence.

Below are the standout benefits and features included in this collectible release:

• Authentic Archie Comics Visual Aesthetic: Rather than replicating standard animated or live-action designs, these figures capture the eccentric, colorful charm of the Stump Asteroid wrestling circuit. From Raphael’s iconic black wrestling singlet to distinctive ring attire, bright boots, and unique kneepads across the brothers, these stand out as must-own Archie Comics TMNT action figures that honor the classic comic pages.
• Complete Team Roster in a Single Set: Sourcing individual convention exclusives or wave releases can be exhausting and expensive. This box set provides an all-in-one solution, allowing you to secure Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael in their intergalactic ring gear simultaneously, creating an instant, cohesive centerpiece for your display.
• Dynamic Articulation for Wrestling Poses: True to NECA’s standard for TMNT 7" Scale Figures, each turtle boasts over 30 points of articulation. Featuring double-jointed knees and elbows, ball-jointed hips, and flexible torso movement, the figures can effortlessly execute wrestling moves such as suplexes, dropkicks, and clotheslines without compromising joint stability.
• Robust Arsenal of Ring-Ready Accessories: The pack includes an impressive suite of accessories that bring the Stump Arena battles to life. Collectors receive interchangeable hands suited for brawling and gripping, alternate expressive head sculpts showcasing battle grins and grimaces, the iconic Stump Wrestling championship belt, and modified weapon accessories tailored to the wrestling theme.
• Premium Collector-Friendly Window Box: The outer packaging features brilliant comic art inspired by classic illustrators from the Archie run. Equipped with a collector-friendly front flap and a clear window display, it allows mint-in-box collectors to proudly showcase the set without breaking the factory seal, while loose collectors can safely store accessories inside the molded plastic tray.

Step-by-Step Guide

Follow this hands-on guide to safely unbox, inspect, prep, and display your set to get the most value out of our NECA TMNT review recommendations.

Step 1: Unbox and Inspect the Clamshell

Carefully slice the factory tape along the outer window-box flap rather than tearing the cardboard to preserve the vibrant comic panel artwork. Slide out the plastic tray and thoroughly inspect all four Archie Comics TMNT action figures before cutting the plastic ties. Verify that each Turtle—decked out in their intergalactic wrestling gear—has clean cel-shaded paint applications, intact belt buckles, and that all wrestling accessories (interchangeable hands, weapons, and championship belts) are accounted for in the packaging bubbles.

Step 2: Heat Treat Stiff Joints

Like many modern TMNT 7" Scale Figures, NECA’s collector-grade plastic can feel extremely tight fresh out of the package. Forcing a stuck knee, butterfly joint, or hip peg can result in sheared plastic. Before posing your figures, submerge them in a bowl of hot (not boiling) tap water for 60 to 90 seconds, or use a hair dryer on low heat from six inches away. Once the plastic softens, gently work the articulation points back and forth until the joints move smoothly.

Step 3: Swap Hands and Fit Wrestling Gear

Once the pegs are pliable, begin outfitting the brothers for the ring. When swapping between standard fists, weapon-holding hands, and grappling grips, pull straight out from the wrist socket without twisting sideways. Fit the custom fabric/soft-plastic accessories—such as Donatello’s mask or wrestler singlets—taking care not to scrape against painted surfaces, as the bright neon accents can be prone to paint rub if forced over rough edges.

Step 4: Pose and Balance the Figures

Recreate the iconic chaos of the Stump Arena by positioning the brothers in dynamic grappling stances. The Stump Wrestling Turtles 4-Pack NECA figures feature heavy upper torsos and specialized shells, which can shift their center of gravity. Adjust the rocker ankles until the feet plant flat against your shelf surface. For high-flying wrestling moves like turnbuckle splashes or clotheslines, use clear articulated flight stands anchored to their waistlines to secure the display against shelf drops.

Best Practices and Pro Tips

Getting the most out of your Stump Wrestling Turtles 4-Pack NECA release requires a bit of care. Like many collector-oriented TMNT 7" Scale Figures, these wrestling variants boast incredible sculpts and vibrant decos, but they can be vulnerable to joint stiffness and paint flaking if mishandled straight out of the box. Follow these essential tips and warnings to keep your figures ring-ready for years to come.

1. Always Heat the Joints Before Posing

As noted in virtually every NECA TMNT review, factory-applied paint can easily seep into joint crevices, seizing points of articulation.

• The Fix: Never force a frozen joint. If an elbow, knee, or thigh swivel refuses to budge, apply gentle heat. Submerge the limb in warm (not boiling) water for 30 to 45 seconds, or run a hairdryer on low heat about six inches away from the figure. Once the plastic softens, gently work the joint back and forth.
• Warning: Forcing cold, stiff joints is the primary cause of sheared plastic pegs, particularly around the double-jointed knees.

2. Swap Hands and Accessories with Care

These Archie Comics TMNT action figures feature specialized wrestling accessories and interchangeable hands that elevate their display value, but the peg connectors are delicate.

• Pro Tip: Always warm up the wrist sockets slightly before pulling out the default hands or inserting fist/grappling hands. When equipping the championship belts, gently slide them over the legs and waist rather than stretching the soft PVC over wide shell margins, which can permanently deform the material.

3. Prevent Paint Rub and Chipping

The bold comic-line deco is a major highlight, but heavy articulation creates high-friction zones.

• Pro Tip: Watch the shoulders, hips, and elbow pads during dynamic posing. Ensure plastic parts are not rubbing abrasively against painted shell edges.
• Common Mistake: Avoid cleaning minor factory smudges or dust with harsh chemical cleaners or alcohol wipes, as this will immediately strip NECA’s factory matte seal and paint wash. Stick to a soft, dry microfiber cloth.

4. Invest in the Right Display Gear

Due to their broad, bulky builds and wrestling gear, these figures carry a substantial center of gravity.

• Pro Tip: Standard peg stands often struggle with the weight of these beefier turtles. Use dynamic, claw-style flight stands designed specifically for 7-inch scales to safely pull off aerial moves like top-rope elbow drops without risking damaging shelf dives.
